Where Legends Are Born, Not Made
Look, I'm not gonna feed you some polished origin story about how everything was planned from day one. Truth is, Myth Ravenfort started in a cramped garage back in 2018 with borrowed equipment and a crazy idea that fitness shouldn't feel like punishment.
I'd spent years bouncing between big-box gyms and boutique studios, watching people grind through workouts they hated, following cookie-cutter programs that didn't work for their bodies or lives. The whole industry felt... off. Too much posturing, not enough real talk about what it actually takes to get strong.
So yeah, I went rogue. Started training folks out of that garage - athletes, parents, people who'd given up on traditional gyms. We focused on what actually moved the needle: high-intensity work that didn't waste time, functional movements that translated to real life, and honest conversations about nutrition without the BS diet culture stuff.
Fast forward to 2020, and we moved into our Granville Street space. It's not the fanciest spot in Vancouver, but it's ours. No mirrors everywhere making you self-conscious, no judgment if you're not Instagram-ready, just solid equipment and people who show up to work.
Here's the deal - we're not here to sell you some transformation fantasy or pretend there's a magic formula. Building strength takes time, consistency, and a willingness to do hard things. But it doesn't have to be miserable.
Our approach blends HIIT, functional training, and Olympic lifting because that combo just works. You'll get stronger, yeah, but you'll also build the kind of conditioning that carries over when you're hiking Grouse Mountain or moving furniture or chasing after kids.
We believe in coaching that meets you where you're at - not where some program says you should be. Some days you'll crush it, other days you'll just survive, and both are totally fine. Progress isn't linear, and anyone who tells you different is selling something.
The "forge your legend" thing isn't just marketing fluff. Everyone who walks through our doors is writing their own story. We're just here to provide the tools, the knowledge, and the occasional kick in the pants when motivation's running low.
Started with 8 members and a dream. Trained in a 400 sq ft garage with dumbbells that didn't match and a rusty squat rack.
Five of our members competed in their first CrossFit-style competition. Didn't win, but we showed up and gave it everything.
Moved into our 3,500 sq ft facility. Survived opening during a pandemic - if that doesn't build character, nothing will.
All our coaches got USAW Level 1 Olympic Weightlifting certified. Also launched our nutrition coaching program.
Hit 150 active members. Started hosting free community workouts every Saturday because giving back matters.
Introduced specialized athletic performance training. Started working with local high school and college athletes.
Team completed Precision Nutrition Level 2 and FMS (Functional Movement Screen) certifications. Elevated our coaching game significantly.
Over 200 members strong. Expanded coaching team to 6. Still learning, still growing, still helping people discover what they're capable of.
